Product Description Norpro Bread Slicer with Crumb Catcher
Amazon.com Review This is an adequate no-frills manual bread slicer, and adequate is the operative word. The crumb catcher eliminates messes, making this slicer a much cleaner option than slicing bread on a cutting board. Also, you can achieve uniform 1/2-inch slices; the only caveat is that you can't adjust the slicer to cut any thicker or thinner. Use your longest serrated knife when cutting, because a knife that just barely spans the width of the slicing tray will keep slipping out of the acrylic slicing guides. The guides have no top support and tend to wobble a bit as you slice. They also have inexplicably high sides; you'd have to use triple the leavening to make bread that reaches the top of them. Despite its design limitations, the Norpro deluxe bread slicer is easy to assemble and maintain and has an attractive overall look. --Carol Gnojewski

Don't waste your money September 6, 2010 Mary-Ellen Sheehy I make bread at least 5 times a week. I love making bread but I can't stand listening to my husband use this bread slicer. The end falls off, the sides are to far apart and it dulls my bread knife way too fast. Don't waste your time or money.
Regina is right. September 1, 2010 T. Brown I wish I had read Regina's review before I bought this. The sides are much too far apart so the knife slides out of the guide with every stroke. This is more than a little annoying. Like Regina said, don't waist your time.
Does its job August 29, 2010 Jill M. Leduc (Goodyear, AZ USA) Easy to assemble and works as stated. You will need a long bread knife to cut to be able to stay within the guide. Would prefer a bit of a thinner slice and some way to avoid cutting down into the wood. Also a way to easily remove the plastic guide from the wood for thorough washing would improve the design tremendously. I would definitely buy this product again for myself or as a gift.
good bread slicer August 24, 2010 Robin South (Pensacola, fl) It is a good bread slicer for the money. The crumb catcher is great especially if you save the crumbs for recipes needing breadcrumbs!
Norpro 370 Bread Slicerand Guide with Crumb Catcher August 23, 2010 Pat Aiello (AUBURN, CA, US) This is an OK bread slicer, but the end falls off when you press the bread up against it or when you empty out the crumbs. And it doesn't cut all the way through the bottom crust. Even if I make the smallest loaf in my bread maker it doesn't always fit and I have to cut the loaf in half which defeats the purpose of the cutter. Since you are always carving on the same end the wood is wearing out. Don't think I'd buy another one.
